RadioCloud Compliance Center

Our Position

RadioCloud is a platform—not a licensor. We do not provide music licenses or legal coverage for copyrighted material. Instead, we offer tools to help you operate more transparently, track listener behavior, and generate reporting—but compliance is your responsibility.

You Must Comply With:

  1. Copyright & Licensing Laws
    • If you stream music, you must ensure proper licensing through:
      • U.S.: SoundExchange, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC
      • International: PRS (UK), SOCAN (Canada), etc.

  2. Broadcasting & Advertising Regulations
    • You must follow FTC, FCC, or equivalent country-specific rules.
    • If you run ads or accept sponsorships, proper disclosure is mandatory.

  3. Privacy & Data Laws
    • If you collect listener data, you must comply with:
      • GDPR (EU/UK)
      • CCPA (California)
      • Local data protection rules in your country

  4. Content Restrictions
    • No hate speech, incitement to violence, misinformation, or illegal activities may be broadcast.
    • We reserve the right to suspend content that poses legal or brand risks.

We Provide Tools To Help:

  • Track Logging (Auto & Manual)
  • Replay Analytics for royalty reporting
  • Geo & Listener Reports for licensing scope
  • Ad Campaign Logs with date/time stamps
  • Automated Episode Metadata tagging (for compliance-ready archives)

Common Questions

Q: Do I need SoundExchange if I only do talk shows?

A: If you’re not using any music at all (including intro/outro beds), you may not need SoundExchange—but always consult a licensing expert.

Q: Can RadioCloud help me register with licensing bodies?

A: We can connect you with industry consultants, but we do not register or file on your behalf.

Q: What if I already have a license from another station?

A: Let us know during onboarding. We’ll note your licensing arrangement in your RadioCloud profile for transparency.
